• DESIGN SPRINTS

At H2 Innovate, a Design Sprint is a 5 steps process for rapidly solving business challenges, creating new products or improving existing ones.

It compresses months of work into a few days

  • WHAT'S A DESIGN SPRINT?

  • Developed at Google, and inspired by Design Thinking and Lean Startup principles, the Design Sprint is a proven methodology for solving problems through designing, prototyping, and testing ideas with users. Design Sprints quickly align teams under a shared vision with clearly defined goals and deliverables. Ultimately, it is a tool for developing a hypothesis, prototyping an idea, and testing it rapidly with as little investment as possible in as real an environment as possible

  • WHY USE A DESIGN SPRINT?

  • Whether you're looking to launch a new product for your customers, to create a new solution for your employees or a new trainings for your students, you need to have the right product. Design Sprints are the fastest way to find out if a product is worth developing, if a feature is worth the effort, or if your value proposition is really valid. Don’t invest months of time, invest a week

  • We have used sprints to design products like Jo the chatbot for Direct Energie, processes like the new payment collection handbook for EDF or training programs like the Startup Lab for EPITA school of engineering. Our clients love Design Sprints because they replace never ending meetings and steering committees with real, tangible progress

  • WHAT DOES A DESIGN SPRINT LOOK LIKE?

  • 1

    BEFORE

    THE SPRINT

We conduct an ethnographic user research through interviews and on-site observations to gather essential data about the end users real problems

    2

    SPRINT

    DAY 1

On the first day, we start at the end and agree to a long-term goal. Next, we make a map of the challenge and agree to a target based on the user research findings

    3

    SPRINT

    DAY 2

On the second day, after a review of existing ideas to remix and improve, participants sketch all solutions that could answer the chosen end user problem

    4

    SPRINT

    DAY 3

On day 3, because we can't prototype and test all the ideas, the participants decide decide which ones have the best chance of achieving your long-term goal

    5

    SPRINT

    DAY 4

On day 4, we’ll adopt a “fake it” philosophy to turn the chosen idea(s) into a prototype, by focusing on the user-facing surface of the product or service

    6

    SPRINT

    DAY 5

On the last day, we invite real users to test the prototypes and gather feedbacks. We also identity the right KPIs to measure how effective the product will be

  • WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A DESIGN SPRINT?

  • At the end of a sprint, you have a comprehensive view of your users personae, their existing journeys and problems, and a tangible representation of your solution with real feedbacks. You are now ready to sell the idea internally and develop the concept
